The mission of the Kennedy's Disease Association is to:
  1. Financially support and promote medical research to find a cure for Kennedy's Disease
  2. Improve awareness of Kennedy's Disease in the medical community
  3. Create a support system for those living with Kennedy's Disease
  4. Increase public awareness about Kennedy's Disease and its effects on families
  5. Share information about Kennedy's Disease for those who seek it.
Heather L. Montie, Ph.D., Thomas Jefferson University,  receiving a $50,000 research grant check from Ed Meyertholen, Member at Large and Patient Liason to the Scientific Review Board, Kennedy's Disease Association, at the 2008 KDA Conference.

 Beth DuVall will be running a 1/2 marathon this May.  She has graciously agreed to run in honor of the KDA. Please show your support and make a pledge towards her goal. Click here to read her personal story and make a pledge.

The KDA awarded 3 new  research grants in 2009 totaling $55,000.  This brings the KDA up to a grand total of 11 grants funded totaling $280,000 since the conception of the KDA .Click here to read more about the grants.

The KDA is pleased to announce the dates of the 2010 KDA Conference. The dates are as follows;  Nov 10th, 11th & 12th. The location is the Holiday Inn - Bayside, San Diego, California.  Click here to see more information on the conference page.

The MDA  has issued a letter stating that due to the current economy, that as of January 1st 2010 they will be stopping assistance in the purchase of durable medical equipment, also transportation to MDA clinics.  Please click here to read the letter. The KDA is pleased to announce that 3 Young Investigator awards of $500 each have been given by the Kennedy's Disease Association to Heather Montie, Jill Yersak and Jamie OHansen. These awards are to be applied towards their registrations at the upcoming GRC (Gordon Research Conference) on CAG Triplet Repeat Disorders.
