ABOUT KENNEDY'S DISEASE • Who Gets KD

WHO GETS KD

Kennedy's Disease is a genetic disease, passed on from generation to generation in a family.  It is an X-linked recessive inherited gene.

Generally males who inherit the gene exhibit symptoms, while females who have inherited the gene are usually just carriers.  Although, in rare instances, females may exhibit symptoms.

To find out more about inheritance, please go to the "Genetic Counseling/Inheritance" section of this Web site.
