Brother Willis (Bud) age 39, was active as a carpenter.
He had had stomach cramps for 2 years.
He had pain in back since he was hit with a steel pulley
at about age 22, diagnosed in 1964 as probable lumbar disk
disease. Could lift 2x6s and concrete forms
but felt that he was not as strong as he should be.
Lifting resulted in abdominal and leg cramps.
He always had had a slight tremor of the hands
that was worse with emotion or excitement,
and better with relaxation, smoking or after a “drink”
His reflexes were normal for the biceps; -3 knees, -4 ankles.
Hopping was poorly performed. He had mild weakness
proximally but was strong in distal muscles.
Fasciculations involved the chin and rt. shoulder girdle.
