What’s a Knock-in Mouse?

• Insert an expanded CAG repeat directly into the mouse androgen receptor gene

• Give appropriate spatial and temporal expression of the mutant protein, at endogenous levels

• Expected to yield both the toxic gain of function and partial loss of function conferred by the mutation
